Dr Shahrazad Abdul-Ridha
Dr Shahrazad Abdul-Ridha grew up in Iraq and attended Baghdad Medical School, graduating in 1992.
She worked in the Middle East before immigrating to New Zealand where she worked at Christchurch Hospital and the Royal Women’s hospital gaining experience in all areas of medicine before commencing her general practice training program.
Shahrazad gained her Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners in New Zealand and subsequently in Australia in 2006.
She was a partner in one of the pioneer GP practices in Christchurch before moving to Australia with her family in 2007. Shahrazad has worked in different areas of Melbourne in general practice before opening Iris Family Medicine.
In addition to working with patients in her private practice, she also works in theatre with a retinal specialist on a weekly basis.
Shahrazad is a mother of two young adults. She enjoys travelling, attending the theatre and has a special interest in interior design.
Dr Mona Sherif grew up in NSW and studied Medicine in Ireland graduating in 1999, achieving Honours in Paediatrics, Neonatology, Forensic medicine and General Practice.
After completing her internship in Ireland Mona returned to Australia and worked extensively at Bendigo Health, in the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department and then at Monash Medical Centre where she gained experience in a broad range of medical and surgical fields, including psychiatry and rehabilitation.
From 2005-2008 Mona also worked for Monash University as the Clinical Supervisor for Medicine and Surgery for medical students. During this period, Mona also worked as a surgical assistant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, a field of medicine she is passionate about.
Mona then went on to complete her Fellowship of General Practice with the Royal Australian College of General Practice in 2013, working in many diverse clinics across Melbourne.
In 2016, Mona opened Iris Family Medicine with Dr Shahrazad and then went on to complete a Diploma of Shared Maternity Care with the Royal Women’s Hospital.
Mona participates in all areas of general practice and has a special interest in maternal, paediatric and psychological health. Mona is now also a GP liaison for Ramsay Health, caring for women after delivery of their baby.
Mona has three school aged children and enjoys travelling, reading, music, going to the movies, and baking for entertaining.

Dr Majid Rahgozar
Dr Majid Rahgozar completed his training in Occupational Medicine in 2013 and became a fellow of AFOEM (RACP) in 2014. Majid has 25 years of experience in general medicine and over 12 years in occupational and environmental medicine.

Dr Rahgozar is an adjunct Lecturer of Monash University, teaching medical students since 2009 as well as training occupational and environmental medicine registrars of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians since 2015.

Dr Rahgozar is a member of TAC's clinical panel as a medical adviser providing clinical guidance for treating health practitioners in relation to best practice management of transport accident related injuries. He is also a member of WorkSafe medical panel.

Dr Rahgozar has worked with Worksafe Victoria as a medical adviser until 2017 and currently is an Independent Medical Examiner.
Hugh, one of our receptionists is studying Doctor of Medicine at the University of Melbourne and is currently placed at the Austin Hospital. He is currently completing some medical research in Ophthalmology.
Hugh is the receptionist on a Saturday and occasionally works during the week.
In his spare time, Hugh enjoys travelling and surfing and likes to keep fit by playing hockey and tennis.

Krina Kennett
Krina graduated from St Vincents School of Nursing in 1981. Throughout her nursing career, she has worked in a variety of areas including hospital nursing, GP practices and pathology, occupational health and specialist pain management .

In addition to her work as a nurse at Iris Family Medicine, she also works as a nurse immuniser with Know council.

Aside from her nursing role, she is also the bookkeeper for her husband’s business. However her favourite role is as Nanna to her two gorgeous grandchildren, Harvey and Harper.
Cathy joined Iris Family Medicine at its commencement as a receptionist.

Cathy has worked previously in the medical field for a psychology practice and prior to that as a school teacher and more recently in various roles in the banking, legal and building sectors.

As a local, Cathy enjoys swimming at the Harold Holt Swim Centre, walking around Central Park and frequenting the many coffee shops in the area.

Huda
Huda grew up in Iraq and has a business administration degree from Baghdad University. She has more than 20 years’ experience working in accounting and administration.

Huda has worked with Technip Petrol in Iraq and Guardian Trust, Perpetual Trust and Downer EDI in New Zealand. In addition to working at Iris Family Medicine, Huda also works at RMIT working with students, staff and external clients.

Huda has a 4 years old cat named Simba and she enjoys hot yoga and ceramics.
Emily is one of our receptionists during the week. She currently studying Physiotherapy at La Trobe University.

Emily has a keen interest in health and fitness. In her spare time, Emily enjoys morning jogs, and participating in a wide range of outdoor activities.

Daniel
Daniel is a receptionist that works with us during the week.

He is currently pursuing an Architecture degree at RMIT and is passionate about design and sustainable architecture. He is also currently a partner in an exciting new start-up venture.

In his spare time, Daniel enjoys sketching, reading, and finding new Netflix shows to binge.
